Doesn’t this bill give free phones to illegal immigrants? I thought Conservatives were against free phones!

But to your point, I am for amnesty, and I am not really concerned with the boarder. I honestly believe in an open boarder policy. Can everyone explain to me what the problem is with an open boarder?

I believe the United States is a country of immigrants, and we should just let everyone stay and find work. I believe we should help immigrants get off the ground by providing some sort of social program for the first year or so they are in America. Or at least help them get an education. Immigrants come here for a reason, to have a better life, but it can be hard if you don’t know the language, your country of origin doesn’t have a good education system, and you don’t have a job or place to live when you first get here. I think if we help these people get off the ground they will contribute to productivity. I think it could even be useful to have some sort of new citizen education program, where we teach them English, help them find jobs, and teach them skills useful for our labor market.

Please if you disagree with me tell me why. I always hear everyone, especially conservatives saying to close the boarder and kick all of the immigrants out…

@Julia-wowsy You should be concerned about the boarder. Ill give you the main reason I care so much about boarder security: NATIONAL SECURITY. If we do not secure the boarder, we will not know who is in our country. Terrorists could be sneaking in to our country. This is why amnesty is not an option in my opinion. There are already too many undocumented people in the United States. We do not know which ones are here for work, which ones are terrorists, or which ones are here living off of government assistance, homeless, or working for wages that do not allow them to maintain a decent standard of living in the United States.

Here is another reason: HUMAN TRAFFICKING. Phoenix Arizona is now the number one city in the nation for kidnapping. Many of the individuals kidnapped are young women, forced into sex slavery by the Mexican cartels. They are kidnapped, smuggled across the OPEN BOARDER, and sold as sex slaves, forced to become drug addicts, prostitutes, etc. If we do not control our boarders, we cannot protect who comes in or out of the United States. I don’t want criminals or terrorists coming in to the United States undocumented, and I don’t want innocents being prayed upon and taken out of the United States where we have no chance of finding or helping them.

We cannot have open borders if we want to provide the poor, old people and children with safety net programs. Flooding our programs with more recipients will doom those already here and destroy the economy. Social programs are already losing ground. Legal immigration is a good thing, but open borders is irresponsible.
